Sorry, it's taken me so long to get back.I had a ticking clock going (with the Waves sale - which I now see is still going on, grrrrh!). I can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to try to help me and all the time it took to write that. Hope what I just wrote makes sense and gives you something to try out and troubleshoot. It sound to me as if the installation wasn't a good one (like something messed up along the way). They are in Applications > Waves > Waves Plugins But on the other hand, if the only Waves Plugin that you have so far is Vocal Rider, that should be easy enough to reinstall even if things get crazy. hopefully you can do that and not affect your existing installation of VocalRider.

Then, I would find the waves plugs that were "installed" on this go around - the demo ones, and delete them.

A way around it is to just delete Logic 9.0.0 from the Applications menu, or if you are worried, zip it up, and then delete the actual app leaving the zip. If it says 9.0.0 then you know the same thing is happening to you. So check in the "about Logic Pro" menu item in the Logic menu when Logic is running. Its possible that could be the cause of the AU validation crash.

I honstly haven't found any version since about 9.1.5 to be much different, they all seem to work.įirst, if you have a means of backing up your startup drive, I would do that now.Īlso be aware that when I updated to 9.1.8 - there is a bug in that one that on my machine, seems to startup projects with logic 9.0.0 (which is in the applications folder as a failsafe if you need a 32 bit only version of logic) - and so that could be causing a conflict with the Waves Plugs from version 9 which require a newer version of Logic.

so if you don't have Logic updated, consider doing that. I’m leaving this up just so maybe it could help someone else down the road.Which version of Logic 9 are you running? That post that Orest linked to indicates that you need 9.1.6 or more recent.

I don’t know if I even needed to do any of the above before hitting “Rescan”. Help! (Please ) What do I need to do to use these 64-bit VST2 Waves Plugins in Cubase 9.0.20 (they work just fine in 7.5.40).Īddendum: All was fixed and works well after a “Rescan” at this time. Here’s the kicker though - when I went to reactivate all the 64-bit Wave entries in the plugin list, “reactivation failed, please contact your vendor!”. None of this worked when I then saved the 7.5.40 file as a 9.0.20 file either.ĭoes anyone know why that maneuver didn’t work, even though the plugins were all 64-bit, and in the Program Files/VST Plugins folder (Cubase has that path identified)? Further troubleshooting, I couldn’t open a fresh instance of the plug in 9.0.20 either. I figured that was OK, because I had put them in the other folder … but when I opened the project in 9.0.20, it showed the message “The plugins could not be found”, and when I opened the Mixer in the project, it had the dreaded “!!Plugin Name!!” in the insert slot. The splash screen did a big time VST.x Plug in scan, then threw a warning that all the (X86) Waves plugin. I made sure Cubase knew about that file path (by looking at the VST2 file paths stored in the bottom window). So I copied the Waves folders and put them in C/Program Files/VSTPlugins (where most/all of my other 64-bit plugins are kept).
#Waves vocal rider 32bit windows
I checked the Windows file structure and found that all Waves were listed in the C/Program Files (X86) folder … isn’t that supposed to be the 32-bit plug in home … could Cubase have gotten mislead by the location into thinking that the plug-ins were 32 bit? Then when I tried to play the project, it said the Waves plug-ins could not be found. I got a warning that a whole bunch of plug-ins had been blacklisted, and and checking the blacklist, there they were, even though they were listed as 64 bit. Today though, from 9.0.20 I opened a project created and stored in 7.5.40. Hi - Can someone help me please? I updated to 9.0.20 a few days ago, no problems playing and mixing in a few projects back then. [Can skip down to the last paragraph for the “solved” bit … bottom line … “Rescan”!
